about

This is the first album by the bluegrass Coal Porters, originally recorded as a stopgap while the Western Electric drummer recovered from an accident. All the material is Byrds/Flying Burrito Bros/Desert Rose or covers those acts did when Chris was with them. And yes, Chris Hillman did hear this album and he loved it to death! Got a fine review in The Observer back in the day too.

They have taken this sound around the world being featured on NPR’s Morning Edition in the USA and having recorded a live session for Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2.
